Basic visa conditions of subclass 101:

For the applicant:

  • Dependent child of Australian citizen parents, eligible New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents, with parents sponsoring
  • Under 18 years old, full-time student aged 18 to under 25 financially dependent on parents, or over 18 and unable to work due to disability
  • Single and dependent on parents
  • Outside Australia when applying for and receiving visa outcome from the Department
  • Never married or in a de facto relationship
  • Meet health and character requirements
  • Pay your debts to the Australian Government
  • No previous visa cancellations/refusals
  • Understand and sign the Australian Values Statement
  • Have consent to migrate to Australia in writing by the person who can legally decide where they live, not contrary to the laws of the home country and Australia

For the sponsor:

  • Be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen
  • Provide adequate accommodation and financial support for the visa applicant’s living needs for the first 2 years in Australia.
